There are several important resources that are available to assist you in growing your business in the Department of Defense (DoD) marketplace:

Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs)

PTACs are located in most states and are partially funded by the DoD to provide small businesses with information on how to do business with the Federal government. PTACs provide training and counseling on marketing, financial, and contracting issues at minimal or no cost.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) offers a multitude of free online classes to help small businesses start, grow and succeed in the Federal marketplace. Complete free online training from the SBA.

Air Force Small Business Specialists

The Air Force has small business specialists at its procurement and contract management offices to assist small businesses in marketing their products and services to the Air Force. Among other services, these specialists provide information and guidance on:

• Defense procurement procedures
• How to be placed on the solicitation mailing lists
• How to identify prime contract and subcontract opportunities
• Locate a Small Business Specialist in your area.
