Small Business Improvement Plan
The AF Small Business Improvement Plan (SBIP) is designed to (1) stop the decline in small business utilization in FY12, and (2) in FY13, begin to reverse the decline in small business prime contract procurements, and to significantly increase small business subcontracting opportunities. The United States Congress, the DoD and the USAF require, through laws and regulations, that small businesses have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate as prime contractors, and that where no prime contract opportunities exist, to have maximum practicable opportunity to participate as subcontractors.
